Never complain

Remember COVID? At the peak of it, I never understood how humanity would ever get out of it. But we did. There were people doing stuff—pushing humanity forward. Whether it was the masked-up cashier in the supermarket, a nurse who sacrificed their life in the process or someone who invented the vaccine.

I feel there are always two broad groups of people in this world: the ones who complain about things and the ones who do stuff about them. Try to be the latter. Complaining is a colossal waste of time and energy and has zero use.

When you complain, you focus on the problem, not the solution. It might feel good to vent for a moment, but what’s next? The problem doesn’t disappear just because you’ve ranted about it. But, when you take action—even a small one—you’re already ahead of the curve. You’re turning frustration into progress.

Take a look around. The people you admire, the ones who inspire you, they’re not sitting around whining about the state of the world. They’re out there, rolling up their sleeves, fixing what they can, and finding ways to adapt to what they can’t. They don’t wait for perfect conditions. They act.

Complaining often masks fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of not being enough. It’s easier to say, “This system sucks” than to actually try and risk falling flat on your face. Failure is so much more productive than whining. When you fail, you learn. When you complain, you stay stuck.
